1847 British antique sterling silver card case with chain, 80g, Nathaniel Mills
SKU: 202407124532
We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver card case.
This is a card case that would have been custom-made for an upper-class person at the time.
The surface decoration is so beautiful that no two pieces are alike.
This is a work by Nathaniel Mills of Birmingham, England, from 1847.
It is fitted with a chain and a ring for hooking your finger, and has an unusual design where you have to press a button to unlock it when opening the lid.
It is beautifully engraved with flowers and scrolls throughout and features the first owner's initials engraved in the cartouche.
It is large enough to fit current business cards without any problem and can hold about 25 business cards.
Although it is quite old, having been made in 1847, it is a card case that is in fairly good condition with little wear or scratches and no distortions.
We hope that this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one!
