Notes on tableware

All of the antique and vintage tableware we carry is one-of-a-kind.

In order to sell these products as "tableware" in Japan, they must be inspected as food-grade tableware in accordance with the Food Sanitation Act. However, having each product undergo inspection before being sold is not practical due to the expense and cumbersome paperwork involved.

Therefore, the silver and ceramic tableware sold in our store are not sold as tableware for food use, but are sold solely as arts and decorative items.

Although these items were originally used as tableware, for the reasons stated above, we leave it up to the customer to decide and take responsibility for how they are used after purchase.
