How to handle your watch
The charm of antique clocks
Notes on antique clocks
It is a very delicate machine because it was made several decades to over 100 years ago.
Compared to modern watches, there are parts that are inferior in terms of functions such as waterproofness, vibration resistance, magnetic resistance, and accuracy.
Over the years, there are many watches that have some kind of symptoms such as "poor initial movement", "large posture difference", "stiff crown", etc., but it's not a defect, but rather a "peculiarity" of the watch. I would like you to treat me with a generous feeling.
The antique clocks sold in our shop will work properly if the mainspring is wound, except for those marked as junk or repairable.
However, there are many cases where there are some "habits", so the characteristic ones are described in the product description.
Accuracy and power reserve (operating time from full mainspring) vary depending on the watch, so the values obtained when inspecting the product are indicated in the product description.
However, the accuracy of antique watches depends on the degree of winding of the mainspring, the temperature/humidity, the posture of the watch (how it is placed), and the presence or absence of objects (PCs, smartphones, earphones, speakers, etc.) that emit magnetic force or electromagnetic waves. , so the accuracy is not always obtained.
Overhaul (disassembly and cleaning) is not performed unless otherwise specified . If the purpose is to use it as a watch, it would be better to have it repaired and overhauled , but if you do that, the cost will be added and the price will increase.
We use this method of sales because there are many customers who use our products for ornamental purposes and are not particular about accuracy .
Consider repairing or overhauling your watch according to how you use it and the condition of your watch .
If you consult with us, we can introduce you to a watch store that specializes in antique watches.

Tips to make it last longer
Be careful not to touch the needle when opening the front cover.
Keep away from objects that emit magnetic force or electromagnetic waves such as smartphones, computers, earphones, speakers, etc.
Be careful not to drop it (it is vulnerable to impact)
When you go out, we recommend using an Albert chain or string to prevent it from falling out of your pocket.
Avoid using it on rainy days or storing it in a place with high humidity.
When winding the mainspring, wind it to the end of the winding (full mainspring).
The initial movement may be bad and it may not start moving, or the accuracy may be poor.
Please contact us if you do not have a contact for overhaul.
Post-purchase maintenance
Even if a mechanical watch is not an antique, it needs overhaul every 3-4 years to be used as a practical product.
In the case of antique clocks, there are many cases where the manufacturer does not accept repairs or the manufacturer itself does not exist .
However, there are still watchmakers in Japan who can repair and overhaul antique watches.
If you cannot find a watch shop that can repair your watch, please contact us.
