Late 19th Century English Antique Staffordshire Dogs, Parent and Child on Base, 20cm High
SKU: 202605306570
Introducing our English ceramic figurine.
This is a dog figurine known as a "Staffordshire Dog," featuring a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a breed known to have been adored by Queen Victoria.
We present an adorable Staffordshire Dog, popular in late 19th-century Britain.
Its appearance, with kiln marks (cracks and glaze irregularities that occur during firing) and small air holes on the back, reflects the old manufacturing methods of the time and is a testament to its long history.
While the most popular Staffordshire Dogs are "Mantlepiece Dogs," which feature two symmetrical dogs sitting alone, this piece has a rare design where a parent dog and its puppy are together on a pedestal.
