1765 Georgian Floral Sterling Silver Mug, 201g, Walter Brind
SKU: 202508245674
We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver mug.
This cup is called a christening cup.
It seems that it was given as a gift for the birth of a child into a wealthy family such as an aristocrat.
This is a 1765 Georgian era sterling silver mug.
The maker's markings are unclear due to wear, but are presumed to be WB (Walter Brind).
The entire piece is decorated with beautiful embossed floral motifs, and the handle is also decorated with acanthus.
Although it was made over 250 years ago, it is made of thick, heavy-gauge silver, the engraving is clear, and the gold plating inside is still well preserved.
We hope this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you!
