We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver vinaigrette.
Vinaigrette is a French word meaning "vinegar," and is the name given to the small containers used to hold flavoring salts.
This work was created by Frederick Marson in Birmingham, England in 1877.
Frederick Marson was a workshop that specialized in small items such as card cases.
Both lids are delicately decorated with flower and leaf motifs, and a monogram believed to be the first owner's initials is engraved in the center of the top lid.
The interior is also beautifully decorated with gold plating.
