1830 British Antique William IV Sterling Silver Vinaigrette 18g Thomas Shaw
SKU: 202501254750
We would like to introduce a vintage silver vinaigrette from England.
Vinaigrette is a French word meaning "vinegar," and it's used to refer to a small case for carrying "snuff."
This is a work by "Thomas Shaw" from Birmingham, England, dating back to 1828, the era of William IV.
Thomas Shaw was a workshop that specialized in small cases, such as those for vignettes.
Both lids feature very delicate decorations, and the center of the top lid is engraved with what appears to be the name of the first owner.
There are signs of repair on the hinge, but it has been thoroughly repaired, the internal decoration is beautiful, the gold plating is well preserved, and the storage condition is good.
I hope this "once-in-a-lifetime" encounter will lead to a special meeting for you!
