SKU: 202501254750
We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver vinaigrette.
Vinaigrette is a French word meaning "vinegar," and is the name given to the small containers used to hold flavoring salts.
This work was created by Thomas Shaw of Birmingham, England, during the reign of William IV, in 1828.
Thomas Shaw was a workshop that specialized in small cases such as vinaigrette.
Both lids are very delicately decorated, and the first owner's name is engraved in the center of the top lid.
There are signs of repair on the hinges, but they have been repaired by a master, and the interior decoration is beautiful with all the gold plating still intact and the piece is in good condition.
We hope this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you!
