The work was created by Samuel Hayne & Dudley Carter in London, England in 1840.
This is a spoon called a mustard spoon, which is used to scoop up paste-like substances.
The handle is decorated with an antique Queens pattern, and the bowl has a thin layer of gold plating.
It is made entirely of thick silver and has a heavy, solid feel to it.
