1888 British antique sterling silver chatelaine eyeglass case
SKU: 202408234588
We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver chatelaine case.
A chatelaine is a type of accessory worn by ladies and worn on the waist by inserting it into the belt.
Women's clothes at the time did not have pockets, so they carried pens, sewing tools, and other items in these pouches.
This was made in England in 1888, but the maker is unknown due to wear on the markings.
It has beautiful carvings with floral and scroll motifs all over.
It's too narrow to fit modern glasses, but you could probably fit thin items like scissors or a comb inside.
We hope that this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you.
