A toasting fork is a fork used when toasting bread over a fireplace.

This is the work of "Adie and Lovekin" in Birmingham, England in 1889.
The sterling silver handle is intricately engraved with a rose motif.
The long handle part is a little painful because it hits the fire, but other than that
