This is a cookie jar made by Jasperware from Wedgwood, UK.
The lid and handle are made by Frank Cobb, a prestigious silver plate manufacturer.
From the engraving on the lid and bottom, it seems to be from the early 1900s.
Because it is a neoclassical style with ancient Greek and Roman motifs,
A very popular long run design.
