This is from the Robert Thornton workshop in Birmingham, England in 1867.
It is a very beautiful card case with amazingly detailed engravings on the entire surface.
The cartouche on both sides is engraved with something like a coat of arms and an initial monogram,
The coat of arms reads in Latin "ubi libertas ibi patria" (where there is freedom there is a motherland).
It is in a very good storage condition with almost no scratches or distortion for a thing over 150 years old.
About 15 business cards are included in the size that can be entered without problems with current business cards.
