The anointing spoon is one of the crown jewelry used at the coronation ceremony in England, and at the coronation ceremony, this spoon is used to scoop the holy oil and apply it to the new king (queen).
It is believed to have been made to commemorate the coronation of Edward VIII.
It is a beautiful spoon with fine carvings on the bowl and handle of the spoon.
