We would like to introduce an antique British sterling silver anointing spoon.

The Anointing Spoon is one of the crown jewels used in the British coronation.
During the coronation ceremony, this spoon is used to scoop holy oil and anoint the new king (queen).
It is believed to have been made to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII.

This is a fairly large anointing spoon with a total length of over 25 cm.
This is a beautiful spoon with intricate carvings on the bowl and handle.
The gold trim is quite faded.
