Vintage American L&H Stern “Sterncrest” Smoking Pipe with Sterling Silver Ornamentation

A vintage briar pipe from Sterncrest, the top-tier line by LHS (L & H Stern), a long-established manufacturer that led the American pipe industry from the first half through the middle of the 20th century.

The bowl and shank feature bold, deeply carved rustication reminiscent of knots and bark, with the contrast between black and reddish brown creating distinctive shadows. A sterling silver band stamped “Sterling Silver” wraps around the joint, adding an elegant glint to the rugged wood grain.

Signs of use are visible inside the bowl and on the rim, along with wear on the silver band and tooth marks on the mouthpiece, but these can be appreciated as the character of a well-loved vintage piece. With its bold shape that feels comfortable in the hand, this pipe will enrich your moments of relaxation as you savor a leisurely smoke.
