This long guard chain, made of .800 silver, dates from late 19th to early 20th century Europe.
Traditional anchor links (marine chain) with a central bar are connected in a series, offering a subdued silver luster and a pleasant weight. It is a 75cm long loop design, with a swivel dog clip at the end. In addition to being used to hold a loupe or locket as in ancient times, today it can be worn as a long necklace with a pendant, adding sophisticated depth to quality everyday wear.
Although there are age-appropriate scuffs and tarnishing, the clasp spring mechanism works well, making it safe and secure to use.
