1888 British Antique Sterling Silver Chatelaine Spectacle Case 80g Levi&Salaman

We are pleased to introduce a British antique, pure silver chatelaine case.

A chatelaine is a type of accessory worn by ladies, which is inserted into a belt and hung around the waist.
Because women's clothing at the time didn't have pockets, they carried pens, sewing tools, and other items in these ways.

This is a work by "Levi & Salaman" from Birmingham, England, in 1903.
The entire piece is adorned with beautiful carvings featuring flowers and scrollwork, and the cartouche on the front bears a monogram that is believed to be the initials of the first owner.
This case is thicker than most cases of this type, so it might be difficult to fit glasses in, but pens and other items will fit with plenty of room.
