Early 20th century French antique shooting stick
SKU: 202506145440
Introducing an antique shooting stick.
This shooting stick was made in France around the beginning of the 20th century.
A shooting stick is a walking stick that can be turned into a simple chair by opening the handle, and was apparently used while hunting or watching horse races.
The thick bamboo shaft is reinforced with gold-plated metal parts.
The seat is made from bamboo and rattan and is stamped with "BTT.SGDG", indicating a French patent registration.
The sliding part of the shaft is engraved with "FJE", which is believed to be the initials of the first owner.
The disk that should have been on the top of the ferrule (to prevent it sinking into soft ground) is missing, but if the ground is firm this won't be a problem.
We hope this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you!
